Issued invoices don't change.
Once time is on a draft or issued invoice, it's locked. Issuing gives the invoice its number and stores the exact PDF, so a download next year is the same file you sent.
Mark it paid when the money arrives. If something's wrong, issue a full credit note and, if you need one, a replacement.
